We at Easy Wellies are a small UK company based in Reading, situated on a small industrial Estate on a working farm.

We, the staff have worked together since 2003 supplying gardening products online, indeed many of us have worked together since the 1990’s working in a local garden centre based in Reading. When the garden centre decided to promote it’s business online some of the staff moved from the shop to the new warehouse facilities which would be used to despatch it’s products online.

The business became an online success and in 2006 was purchased by a major PLC company. During 2007 a much bigger PLC company bought the slightly smaller PLC company and we were very unsure what the future would bring for us (the staff).

In early 2008 the major PLC decided that it would move the despatch from Hogswood Farm Industrial Estate to it own very large facility. Sadly we could see that this was the correct thing to do as the business was expanding at an exponential rate and we were about to grow out of the facilities which could store up to 1500 pallets of stock.

In February 2008 we decided that we as a team would stay on at the facilities in Hogswood farm and transfer the skills and product knowledge which we had developed over the previous five years working for an online garden centre. We established Earth Systems Limited and with the very generous help of our landlord started trading online in April selling irrigation equipment. We very quickly met the targets and by June felt that we had established ourselves in the irrigation market. Then it started to rain and did it rain. After a month of not stop rain we knew we had to change the shape of the business and started easy-wellies.co.uk in September 2008.

The rest is History and within a year our small staff of three had doubled to six and we now knew that we would not be a stat filling up companies house with failures.

At easy-wellies.co.uk we know that online businesses need to listen to customer feedback and In 2012 we joined SATRA and are now working closely with them in relation to wellington boot manufacture in the UK. We hope that this will be in place in late 2013 ready for winter 2014.
