Rubber Boot

The high grade natural rubber used in the Bogs classic wellington is makes sure that the wellington is hard wearing, light in weight and very durable.

Lining

The Bogs classic range of wellingtons are made using a full neoprene sock that forms the basis of the boot. The neoprene lining is formed using a sandwich of products that will keep the boot warm and durable. The Sandwich is made up of 3 key parts.

On the outside is a nylon fabric which protects the neoprene and aids the wicking of moisture that the foot produces as it perspires.

The main insulation is provided by the 7mm Neo-Tech. This keeps the boot warm and is 100% waterproof.

The next layer is the patented Airmesh lining. This is 2mm thick and is used in part for added insulation plus it has excellent wicking properties that remove moisture from perspiration as quickly as possible

Tread

All Bogs boots are fitted with their own branded treads that they have developed over many years. The treads are very hard wearing and offer a good grip for various conditions.

This service is available to all parts of the United Kingdom. The parcel will be despatched via Royal Mail tracked or DPD using whichever service is most applicable for your location. Many parcels will arrive within 1 day however the service is not guaranteed.

Most of Mainland UK will receive their delivery within 2 days.

Offshore locations and the Highlands can take up to 5 days for the parcel to be delivered however this will vary depending on the delivery service to your remote location.

How to Care For Your Rubber Wellington Boots

To maintain your rubber wellington boots in top condition please follow the simple steps below

 Store rubber wellington boots in a cool place away from direct heat and sunlight. 

Never dry your wellingtons on top of a radiator or other direct heat source

Wash the outside of your rubber wellington boots with clean cold water after use. 

Do not use detergents to clean them

Do not store you wellington boots in the back of a car or greenhouse because the rubber will dry and start to perish

Rubber wellingtons that are used with animals will have a much shorter life than normal because of the acid in the animal waste that attacks the rubber.  If you do need wellingtons for animal care then please look in the Working welly, Aigle or Bogs wellington boot sections.

Fitting of a Bogs Wellington Boot

Bogs wellington boots are a little unique in the fit to the foot. Bogs build their wellingtons to have a tighter heel and bridge to the boot with a more open toe area. This can make the boot when new feel tight however because of the neoprene lining this soon relaxes and becomes a comfortable fit. The reason that Bogs design their boots in this way is to try and bring the heel of the boot up with the heel of your foot. This as you can imagine is very difficult to do in rubber footwear and although not as good as a walking boot it does manage to come quite close in replicating this action.

Trying your Bogs Boots on For The First Time

When you first put your foot in to the Bogs boot you should push your foot in quite hard ish. Once your foot is inside the boot you should make sure that you cannot fee your toes at the end of the boot. To test this walk around the house for a few mins letting the boot bed in slightly. Now check that your toes are clear of the end. Providing all seems ok you should now leave your Bogs boots on for at least another 20 minutes and try doing something more active than watching telly. We would suggest vacuuming the house or other similar indoor activity that will generate internal body heat. There are probably more interesting activities than vacuum cleaning that you can perform in the house that would replicate this however we would not want to list them here.

Ahhh no you are wrong, we were thinking you could walk up and down the stairs or move the furniture about, not the cheeky way. The reason we need you to do this is because feet swell when warm. Providing the Bogs boots were comfortable and not painful on the bridge then you can now take them outside. Go for a walk and start using them in the garden. Within 3 hours of use you should notice that the bridge of the foot now fits perfectly as the neoprene lining has relaxed to the shape of your foot. We think once you have purchased a Bogs boot you will not look back again, the boot is comfortable, durable and light. It is not the most stylish but it will be great for walking, standing on football pitches or just walking in the snow.
