The all new Rockfish lightweight walking wellington. The Rockfish wellington has been totally re-engineered using the highest grade material that far exceed existing top brands. The reconstruction has started from the base material and continues throughout the welly.
Material Construction
The all new Rockfish welly starts with the rubber Most wellington boots have about 45% latex content however this can drop as low as 35% in cheaper boots although this can lead to problems with flexibility and can make the boot very heavy. The new Rockfish wellington contains 65% latex and this means that the rubber can be rolled a lot thinner and so make the boot much lighter so so ideal as a walking wellington. Because the Rockfish wellington boot is so much thinner because of the high level of natural latex making it possible to roll the rubber to a much thinner thickness the boot has to be reinforced with a very high grade lining. This unique lining support the wellington so that the uppers remain standing up even when the foot is removed.
Rockfish Wellington Boot testing
As reassurance that the strength of the new Rockfish welly has not been compromised because of the new construction the boot then underwent a flex test in the UK. The boot was tested at a university to simulate walking. This involved a 500,000 flex test. This means that the Rockfish wellington was flexed 500,000 times on a machine and it passed with flying colours. Having past this test a sample of rubber was then removed from the wellington and was tested again this time with a full 90 degree bend test. This involved folding the rubber through a 90 degree sharp bend 250,000. This is a very extreme test and is something that a normal wellington would not have to be put through. Again the new latex mix passed this test
Rockfish Colours
AS soon as all the test had been completed the new Rockfish boot was put in to production. The boots are hand made with very strict quality control making sure that all boots meet the very high quality control standards. The first shipment of the new boots left China in April 2011 and are due to land in the UK in July 2011. The first batch arriving will be available in green, black, aubergine, chocolate brown, pink and red and will be on sale in many stores across the UK.
Availability Of Rock Fish Wellingtons
Initially supplies of Rock Fish Welly boots will be in short supply because of the new production delays and existing demand that has been caused due to the delays during testing. Production is being stepped up in August 2011 and will see the short term shortage clear by the end of September. Sadly this will be after the festival season although stocks for Christmas will be plentiful certainly up until the middle of December. Most online and shop based retailers should have plentiful stock by the middle of October and warehouse stock should be at capacity by the middle of November. Until full stock is available please order your boots from easy wellies who will make sure that your boots arrive quickly and with the minimal of fuss
