Short Wellies

Short wellington boots are not meant for short people, they are meant for short and tall people who would like a short welly or what we would call a backdoor wellington boot.  The reason we call them a back door boot is because they so easy to put on and take off.  It was only a few years ago that you would only have found short wellington boots available from very cheap pvc boot manufacturers.  

Recently we have seen the range increase dramatically and we think this is because of the very poor summers that we have had over recent years.  The short boots have made a great alternative to heavy footwear when visiting festivals and fetes. While still being a great practical welly that can be used in most conditions (other than very deep mud as seen at Glastonbury this year) 

The manufacturers who now make a short wellington include many brand leaders as they have seen this market expand and realized that most people were looking for a stylish comfortable wellington that was easy to put on and take off plus offered great style.

Because of the recent snow in 2009 and 2011 demand still remains high and during the summer of 2011 we are seeing increased demand and in particular from Northern counties who are buying these great wellies in preparation for the snow that is anticipated for the winter of 2011. 

With these rapid changes in climate many households are now making sure that they are ready for anything that the weather can throw at them (similar to Norther United States) Short wellies are great because they take up less room in the house or garage, are easy to pack in to school bags and suitcases or even large hand bags.  Or they can be left in the boot of the car just in case they are needed on a wet day out
